Jillian Faulkner Photography was incorporated in 2010 and is a professional, licensed and insured portrait photography studio located in the SW community of Signal Hill in Calgary, Alberta. Jillian Faulkner Photography is an active member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers as well as the Professional Photographers of Canada. Her portrait work has won multiple awards and she has been published in various publications over the years.

Styling Consultation

Personalized professional family photography sessions

My goal is to have each and every client experience a unique and personalized photography session as well as create for you, final photographs that are exactly what you are looking for! All portrait photography sessions are carefully planned and fully designed to suit your needs. To better understand your goals for the session, I will provide a pre-session styling and concept consultation to speak with you about your vision and offer suggestions based on what you are looking for in your final images.

During the consultation we will discuss location options, the style of the session and wardrobe to ensure we are capturing you as your authentic self! We will also talk about what you are hoping to do with the final images. Are you wanting to have wall art for a particular room or hallway in your home or perhaps a keepsake album for your coffee table? Our conversation will help me get to know you better and to ensure that I can plan a session that is tailored just for you!

The Portrait Session

The majority of my portrait sessions do take place in my boutique home studio located in the SW community of Signal Hill in Calgary, Alberta. I work with studio lighting and have various backdrops and simple props for clients to use. The studio is cozy with a seating area for families and a separate changing room for outfit changes and to freshen up when you arrive and throughout your session. My studio is fully stocked with refreshments, organic snacks, hair products, a hand steamer, lint rollers, diapers, wipes and anything else you might need for your photography session. I will do my best to ensure that your portrait experience is relaxed, enjoyable and stress-free.

This is probably one of the greatest concerns for families when contemplating booking a studio session. What I can tell you is that I’ve been there before myself as a mother of two boys. Trust me, there is no situation that I haven’t encountered before. My experience working with newborns, babies and small children means that I am prepared for the unexpected and will work efficiently while still keeping the session fun. Your family photo session is meant to be a joyful time for your family, not something you are dreading. I’m confident in my ability to make the session run as smoothly as possible, I promise you that you are in good hands!

Viewing and Ordering Appointment

This is the exciting moment when you get to view the best images from your portrait photography session! This appointment will take place approximately 2 weeks after your session. Zoom ordering appointments are available by request for clients living outside of the city of Calgary.

Your viewing and ordering appointment will take place at my studio where you will be presented with the best images from your session projected onto a large 65” 4K screen. We will then review the images individually so that you can select your favourites and make some final decisions on how many images you would like to purchase. You will also have the opportunity at this point to preview and touch all the incredible products our studio offers.

It is important that all those family members participating in the photography session do set the time aside to come in to view and select their favourite images at this appointment. Delivery of Your Ordered Images

All purchased products will be available for pick up within 4 weeks of your order being placed. Any digital files ordered will be delivered via direct download with custom USB drives available for those that order a larger collection of images. An email will be sent to you once your order has arrived, is packaged up and ready for pick up.

It is not uncommon to have clients return year after year. They recognize that their children are growing up quickly and value a visual documentation through professional photographic artwork. I will always do my best to create images that co-ordinate with past sessions, so that you can build onto what we’ve already created together. This will help to keep your images fresh and evolving just like your family.
