Due to COVID-19, I know the past two years of high school and university graduates have not had the school experience they had hoped for but with restrictions beginning to ease in Alberta, there is no reason to hold off any longer on booking your grad portraits to mark this very important milestone.
Whether we are celebrating your high school graduation or the completion of your university degree, you have worked so very hard and deserve to celebrate this special milestone with professional graduation portraits that reflect your authentic self. Together we will customize your graduation photo shoot to reflect your unique personality. Whether you want to have your grad photos taken with your graduation cap and gown, wearing your school sports uniform, the new suit you just purchased or that gorgeous full length graduation gown you ordered months ago, we can tailor the photo session just to you to ensure you end up with the final images you are hoping for. In past years, many schools would supply graduation caps and gowns but due to COVID-19 most schools stopped offering them. Many of the graduates that I photographed this past year were thankfully still able to get a cap and gown through Canadian Caps & Gowns. A great resource for those graduates that do prefer the more traditional cap & gown portraits.
Your graduation pictures can be casual, formal or even a mix of both and there are so many great outdoor locations in and around the city of Calgary where we can take your grad portraits. One of my new favourite locations is the Calgary Central Library. The incredible architecture and urban feel are the perfect choice for a more modern take on grad photos but if you are hoping for something more classic, you can book your session in studio and we can create something just as magical.
These professional graduation pictures are also the perfect gift for your parents and grandparents so that they can display you proudly throughout their home. Perhaps you want to include your parents and close friends during the session to help celebrate, we can do that as well! This high school graduate wanted to skip the cap & gown photos for a more modern graduation photography shoot. After taking a series of portraits in his more formal attire, we headed over to one of Calgary’s oldest neighbourhoods called Victoria Park, did a quick outfit change in my handy dandy pop up changing tent and found this awesome graffiti wall that worked as the perfect backdrop for that urban feel. I absolutely loved how his graduation photos turned out and will definitely be returning to this location again in the future! Congratulations Christian on graduating Grade 12!
